Ajak Deng Chiengkou is a journalist, consultant and cultural advocate shaped by the memory of South Sudan and the discipline of Australian public life. With more than twelve years of media experience, he has interviewed over one thousand political leaders and documented the realities of South Sudanese communities both at home and in the diaspora. Ajak’s work spans journalism, public affairs, civic education and community development. His writing draws from indigenous knowledge, lived history and grounded analysis. He focuses on governance, social cohesion, human rights, national identity and the responsibilities of citizenship. As the founder of Ajakguong Media Productions, he creates documentaries, community stories, cultural archives and public interest content. His reflections blend personal memory with policy insight, encouraging honest dialogue and collective responsibility. His aim is to inform, challenge and build understanding across generations. Ajak writes for the present, carries the past with care and speaks to the future. His work honours the dignity of South Sudanese traditions and seeks pathways for unity, peace and responsible leadership.
